Policies:
  • With the acadamia, plagiarism by students and professors is considered academic dishonsty and are subject to academic censure.
  • In journalism, plagiarism is considered breach of jounalistist ethics and reporters caught plagiarizing typically face disciplinary measure
  • Plagiarizing in not copywrite infringement. While both may apply in a particula act, they are different transgression
Penalties:
  • In academic world, plagiarism is a very serious offense that results in punishments such as failing grade in a particular assignment
    • Students found out to repeatly plagiarize may be suspended or expelled
  • In journalism, plagiarism means betrayal of public trust.
    • Journalist accused of plagiarism are suspended from reporting task
